As with many people, I have been on a journey of discovery most of my adult life.  Having joined the Australian Navy at the age of 15, I pretty well was swept along by life without too much thought going into the mysteries of the Universe

On leaving the Navy in 1977, reality hit home!  Young family, no job and adapting to civilian life were thrust upon me.  To say the least, I did not cope well with this new lifestyle.  Suddenly I had responsibilities that weren't inside the box the Navy had designed for me.  The next twenty years were a succession of sales jobs as I slowly grew into my civilian skin.  Rising through the Corporate world with many highs and lows I started to seek answers to how to make my life better. The books, tapes and seminars followed.

All of this was wasted as my searching was for external 'things' to help live a better life.  In 1999 I wrote a book for my son who was turning 21.  The title was, The Secrets to Life.  It contained ideas and thoughts that could possibly help him on his journey through Life.

It took me another 5 years to stop and reflect on where I was and what my life looked like.  At last my focus turned inward.  Being involved in Public radio in my home town gave me the perfect vehicle to take my thoughts and ideas to the others via the airwaves.

It has been my good fortune to meet and interview some amazing people who have achieved success in their lives.  Success in its' many forms.  All willing to share with my audience so that someone may gain an insight into how to live a better life.  In late 2007 I took the show to the internet seeking a global audience.

Early in 2008 I volunteered for a project helping restore classrooms in a remote area of Rajasthan, India. What an experience.  Working and living in basic conditions that the locals endure every day made me so grateful for all that I have. Apart from the work we were taken to see the Taj Mahal which was breath-taking and go on a Tiger safari.  Nothing can prepare you for the contrasts of India.  Driving around Delhi is an experience you can't describe.

I would recommend volunteering to anyone who wants to go outside their comfort zone and grow as a person.
